Live at 100 Club - Blur leave fans delighted (Watch full gig)

The 100 Club, London. Exclusive, small, intimate, sweaty, bloody, amazing, "the best Blur gig ever" ... these are just some of the words used by the audience and press to describe the warm up gig in the small venue on August 2nd 2012.

Needless to say, Blur performed at their very top form. Highlights include 'Bugman', where Graham Coxon was just mashing it out on the guitar, and the song turned into something punk-like and fantastic. 'Oily Water' from Modern Life is Rubbish was also brilliant - it always is and sounds better live.

'Colin Zeal' surprisingly was also played - an unconventional track, but it has it's merits. Blur's reviving songs they rarely play live and favouring them over the normal singles collection. No 'Song 2' or 'Country House' this time, but 'Trimm Trabb' and 'Young & Lovely' was again played.

Blur to be special headliners for 100 club gig

GIG NEWS: After a few weeks of speculation, the truth about who is the secret guests for a Converse-hosted special gig is revealed. And obviously, the very special guests that night are none other than Blur, who will headline REPRESENT at the legendary 100 Club (Oxford Street, London) on August 2nd 2012.

This will be the first official warm up gig ever for Blur in 2012, just before their massive Hyde Park Olympics gig a few weeks after this show. There are around 200 pairs of tickets available for this performance, so it is definitely going to be an intimate and close-up gig for the few chosen lucky fans!


To get a chance to watch Blur live in this special event, register for tickets on the official Converse website (www.converse.co.uk/blur) from 9:00am - 6:00pm (UK time) on Wednesday, August 1st 2012.

Blur will play B-side show at Maida Vale - July 2012

BBC Radio's Steve Lamacq has confirmed that Blur will be playing an exclusive special session at Maida Vale Studios, London on Tuesday 31st July 2012, in which there will be a limited number of tickets to be won.

Blur will be playing a special set from their hits collection and some real fan’s set of b-sides, rarities and oddities, with a few surprises thrown in. They will also be in conversation with Steve who has also been digging through the archives to uncover some lost gems.

The deadline for registration is Friday 20th July. The maximum tickets per household is 2. The gig is free and hosted by Steve. To get a chance to see Blur live in this intimate gig, simply head to the BBC 6 Music website (click here) to register and enter the ticket draw. 


For those who are not in London or live outside Britain, tune in on July 31, 11am EST, and listen online at www.bbc.co.uk/6Music. Good luck to all - this is a rare tread indeed!

Blur announce four Olympics warm-up shows for August 2012

LATEST ANNOUNCEMENT: Blur has announced that they will play four warm-up dates in early August 2012. The official news was posted on Wolverhampton Civic Halls' official website (click here) one day earlier than the official announcement, which was scheduled to be on Sunday 2012.

The dates and venues are: 

• Wednesday 1st August at Margate Winter Gardens
• Sunday 5th and Monday 6th August at Wolverhampton Civic Hall
• Tuesday 7th August in Plymouth Pavilions

Tickets are extremely limited and Blur have arranged a special pre-sale for fans, at 9am on Wednesday 16th May (ahead of the general on-sale of Friday 18th). 

Want to maximise your chance for tickets? For all fans, sign up now at Blur.co.uk and you will be sent a link at 9am on Tuesday 15^th May, which will go live 24 hours later when you can use it to enter Wednesday's pre-sale. 

The tickets are priced at £35 each, plus a £3.50 booking fee. ID will be required on entry to the venue. It seems that there will be no gigs in London or Central, but so far, so good.

Additionally Wolverhampton Civic Hall can hold approximately 5000 people - providing you're not too late, it seems that securing a ticket will not be a problem.
