Graham Coxon A&E Cover Art Revealed

Graham Coxon's newest album A+E unveiled its album cover today, very different, unique and a just a little bit unsettling. This cover seems to pay homage to older, 80s, oldies, retro styled bands like Talking Heads, especially the font type, and features a low-resolution image of legs and an accident.

One fan even suggested that "Graham cut himself shaving", and has interesting typefaces of red and black on the top and bottom of the cover. 

Similar fonts to Talking Heads ?

Here's just a comparison to his previous 7 albums, all of which feature Graham Coxon's own original artwork and paintings. His 8th album has a very different color, and according to Graham, has a very different theme and style in music too. He also mentioned in an interview that he wanted to experiment with photo manipulation and editing, and it's no surprise that this cover features a photography instead of any drawings.

Blur to produce new record with William Orbit - 2012

This is possibly the most exciting news of January 2012 - Blur is possibly going to collaborate with William Orbit, another English electronic/ alternative record producer who produced Blur's sixth album "13" in 1999, possibly for a new track / record in the making.

On William Orbit's twitter (click to visit) he tweeted the following messages, one to Graham Coxon and one to World Circuit.

The tweet to Graham Coxon seems to suggest that Orbit is meeting with Graham on March 3rd 2012, for a "vocal session".


Then his second tweet clearly says that he will be in the studio with Damon Albarn from Wednesday.


Blur will be performing at the Brit Awards in 2012, and there has been some speculation about whether there will be a practice gig or some warm-up event, and Damon and the gang has been dropping many hints about possibly making records or even an album !


Something's brewing in the Blur-sphere and us fans are getting hints and leads!

Although this Facebook message could refer to the new Madonna album, he revealed in his earlier tweets (above) that he will be in the studio with Damon Albarn from Monday (January 16th 2012).

Orbit won the Q Awards for BEST PRODUCER for Blur's "13" album in November 1999. He is also best known for producing Madonna's album Ray of Light.

UPDATE 23rd Jan: Dave Rowntree tweeted about meeting up with Graham Coxon and the band on 12th Jan:

Its seems there will definitely be new material on the way!

The Return of Bobby Womack- new album produced by Damon Albarn 2012

The latest issue of Mojo (with New Order in the cover) featured some articles on Rocket Juice And The Moon, Damon Albarn's new supergroup band (with Flea and co.) and Bobby Womack's new album, titled The Bravest Man In The Universe. 

Womack said some interesting things about his new album, and said his newest album is "all about history, building on the past, looking back to what I've done before but challenging myself too". 

He also said "I've been disillusioned with the business but meeting Damon inspired me". Seems like a great collaboration team, the two! 

The album will be released in March 12th 2012.

Graham Coxon to release solo album 2012 - A+E

Graham Coxon's new solo album A+E is out in stores on April 2nd 2012. This is Coxon's 8th solo album and is a follow up to his 2009 album "The Spinning Top". 


Graham Coxon will tour and be playing 14 shows across the UK, beginning at Oxford's O2 Academy on April 13 up until April 30 when he will headline Falmouth's Princess Pavilions venue.

Graham Coxon's NME Christmas Card Design - free download

Graham Coxon from Blur has designed a festive Christmas card for NME , after the magazine requested musicians to draw them original artwork to be featured in a free downloadable card for all music fans. 

Graham's design is, as quote NME, "a grotesque dude who's just learned that he's eating turkey from now til Easter".
